Dell Latitude CPi screen limited to 800x600 (can't get 1024x768)

I've managed to get rawhide of 2004-10-01 installed on a Dell CPi
Latitude notebook, but can't get the screen larger than 800x600.  The
physical LCD is 1024x768 but I've been unable to get the xorg drivers to
properly use the extra bits.

I'm going to update to 2004-10-02 in a bit and see if there are any
changes (improvements).

Meanwhile, anyone have any hints?

The display controller is Neomagic 128, but I'm using the "vesa" driver
