usb disk installations

Thanks for the response. It would be decent to have a ready-made setup 
that works without a lot of tweaking. But since this is a hobby, I'll 
learn in the process when attempting to get the usb drive to boot up.

I did chroot to the usb installation and do some tinkering with the USB 
installation, but that was all that I tried so far. The chrooted 
environment was educational and I learned some processes that Linux has, 
so it wasn't a total loss.
