media error? installing from hdd

Tried installing fc3t2 from hdd (4 isos, md5's are correct, checked then
twice)

On about 1/3 from install, it gave an error on installing gnome-applets,
suggesting media error or lack of space (installed everything, had a 10g
partitions just formatted by it)

Any suggestions on what could be wrong? The same system is running fc2
now.
