To do this, copy the

/usr/lib/ooo-1.1/program/resource/
(or the ooo-1.2, whatever). Uninstall Fedora's openoffice and then
download and install a stock openoffice. Replace the files contained in
the ooo/program/resource directory with those you got from fedora (Which
are a series of .res files), and voilà, you have the splash and visual
of fedora's one, but with the capabilities of the stock version.
