can't stop yum, must use kill -9

sorry, i do not know what you mean.

afair it was the regular output for none matching package, even with -d0 :

eg.
"Could not find update match for udev*
No Packages marked for Update/Obsoletion"

while rhn-applet-tui was ok and told me that there was an "udev" update.
yum was later satisfied with  "udev\*"

probably it was only a not uptodate mirror.
i will take more attention if this happens the next time.
