Click links in Evolution and other gnome apps

Ah, I understand now.

You're looking at the preferences in Firefox, I'm looking at the
prefernces for GNOME (and how it handles launchers)

While it's nice to no that Firefox can modify this behavior, I still
think work needs to be done here.

Obviously, this behavior (in firefox) is designed around operating
systems that don't support multiple desktops.  In either windows or mac,
this simplistic set of options makes sense.  The link will always appear
on the same desktop, because you've only got one desktop.

However, it needs to be smarter in environments where there are more
than one desktop.  Opening clicked links (in external applications) in
browser windows on other desktops is just going to cause confusion.

Of course, this is where it gets tricky.  It would be very sane for
firefox to open links in new windows as this would mean the new window
would be on the right desktop (where the link was clicked), but this
wouldn't be a sane default for single desktop environments where you
don't want a whole bunch of windows, and that's why you've got tabs.

Further, I'd prefer that the link was opened in a tab (it's a nice
default) but not at the expense of not knowing on which desktop the tab
has launched (and having to search for it each time).
