RPM install error ("scriptlet failed")

Ah! I notice from another post
(https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-test-list/2005-December/msg00299.html) that SELinux is a factor in this.

Although I hadn't considered SELinux as I disabled it during install. I
wonder how it turned itself back on...?
