Hm, most of my FC3 systems doesn't have this feature enabled.

I guess they have either been upgraded, or at some time
backed up & restored.

I'll fix this in rescue mode:

tune2fs -Odir_index <partition>
e2fsck -f -D <partition>

Wouldn't it be a good thing to include this
automatically during an upgrade?
