2.6.14-1.1696_FC5 installs but kernel crashes on boot

Hi all,

I have a new machine that I am able to use for testing of FC5, I'm
slightly jumping the gun by using rawhide, it has previously had XP MCE
running OK, and also the unofficial FC4.1 (because the official FC4
didn't recognise the NIC)

I used boot.iso and did an http install from
download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/i386/

Installer ran OK, but on startup it loads kernel and then always hangs
and/or reboots after "Write protecting the kernel read-only data"

I've grabbed debug kernel messages using a serial console and nothing I
see helps *me* decide what to try next.

Hardware spec is
	Intel D945GTP motherboard, BIOS v3191
	P4 3GHz SL7Z9
	Radeon X550 PCIe
	2x 512MB 667MHz DDRII 4-4-4-12
	2x WesternDig 250GB SATA
	1x LiteOn DVD-RW LDW-411S
	2x Compro Videomate DVB-T200 tuners

During installation the SATA drives were recognised correctly, since
getting the problem I have tried various combinations of BIOS settings
for IDE/AHCI/Legacy/Enhanced settings for the drives, which have made no
difference. The boot CD I made still boots happily into repair mode.

The kernel log is attached to my bugzilla report
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=173904

Anyone else seeing similar? Any suggestions on what to try next?
