pup and proxy problem

  Hello there,
           I thought I would try 'pup' instead of 'yum update'
for my software updates. Normally I set up my proxies using:

/etc/profile.d/proxy.sh

which I wrote to set a proxy depending upon where I am.
I guess this is not called by the pup session, as it
crashes after failing to find a baseurl.

  Where should I put this script so pup will pick it up?
  Even better, it should be synched to networkmanagers
activities...
