Did the "service xfs restart". emacs then seg faulted. Ran "yum install
*x11*font*ISO8859*" It still segfaulted. I may try adding
xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-100dpi-1.0.0-2 to my kickstart file &
reinstalling.

I restarted X. No go. I shut X down completely, and restarted it. That
worked, and emacs worked correctly.

The I removed all of the font packages except
xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-75dpi.noarch, shut X down completely, and
restarted it, i.e. back to the original configuration. I then fired up
emacs with no .emacs. It worked. ??????

So maybe all we need to do is run "service xfs restart"? I'll make a
fresh install and try that.
