system-config-proxy and how well gnome works with proxy config...

Hello to you fellow testers and developers!

Since i use fedora at work (atm fc4) i am always behind proxys (i am
working at different companys all the time)...

System-config-proxy is supposed as a global config tool for
configuring proxy settings... but how well are those proxy settings
working for gnome applications...

simple example... while the weather applet works (which shows that my
http proxy is setupped correctly) simply opening gnome-terminal and
running yum update requires me to export the proxy settings for http
again...

generally i think it would help alot to make as many as possible
applications "proxy ready" by making em work with system-config-proxy
to make the stuff work properly in company environments.

Since i am not at home with my rawhide test box often enough i am
looking for help to get as much tested as possible and reported
upstream.

I sense pretty low hanging fruits there.

regards,
Rudolf Kastl
