You're missing 'coreutils' I think.  That would cause some serious weirdness.

After you get coreutils..

Since you're getting this BadName error on more than one app I think you may 
need to try running a new user and see what happens (i.e. a clean /home).  That 
would give you some clues, maybe reset to default F9 themes, fonts, etc.
