hp deskjet F2180 could print, but could not scan on fc 9

used to work perfectly under werewolf, and all I did is install hplip.
now i installed hplip, the printing system tells me to install hpijs, so now the printing is alright, but the scanning never worked, and hplip could never ever sense my printer, although things are printing well.
