Feedback exists, you're not seeing it because the action must not be taking 
place.  The install button ghosts and changes to say 'Cancel' and the progress 
bar (bottom right) does work during the transaction.  The bottom left status 
text changes as well.

You need to run 'gpk-application -v' and submit a bug if you're seeing nothing 
occur.
