I experienced the same thing.  However, I was poking around and deleted
the "auto ethernet" entry ... and then used the same right-click "edit
connections" interface to add it back in.

This morning was the first time it auto connected to both wireless and
wired after coming out of suspend.  Not sure if that's 'cause something
I did ... or luck.
