F9beta update takes forever

The problem with the sqlfiles stuff recurred; I then changed to a 
different (local) mirror, _my_ side of the wireless link, and ran "yum 
clean metadata" which I expected to clear the problem.

Those two actions did indeed clear it.

Beginning to end. Where would I get better info now the system's been 
powered down for some days?

Fair request, I was in a rush and didn't have the info before me. xine's 
not likely relevant to the thread. It seems that the above actions 
cleared this too.

While running a new update to try to reproduce the problem, I see it's 
installing lots of unwanted 386 packages. This leads to the question, 
why did yum-basearchonly get removed?

There were quite a few updates that day,  I won't bore you with the 
whole list:

[root at potoroo ~]#

It's only resulted in an extra 55 packages so far. but still ....

Package yum-basearchonly is obsoleted by yum, trying to install 
yum-3.2.14-10.fc9.noarch instead
Package yum-3.2.14-10.fc9.noarch already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
[root at potoroo ~]#

Oh, so that's why it got removed. Shame about the loss of my expressed 
preference. Is this worth reporting to bz? Where is the documentation on 
how to do that now (I have looked at the supplied documentation)?
