Second hardisk not readable!

/dev/hdX versus /dev/sdX is not a matter of correct versus incorrect, its an 
intentional change started in F8 for all hard drive devices to be treated as 
scsi whether ide or not.  The knoppix kernel is not doing this and so still 
identifies it as hdX.  I don't know the cause of your problem but its not that 
detail.

The portion snipped out above looks like the real issue here, with zero hardware 
sectors found.  This should probably go directly into bugzilla against the kernel.

Make sure to get the kenrel and udev versions you have in the report (don't know 
that from your email).
