Unfortunately, I cannot confirm your outline. Running
kernel-2.6.35.9-61.rc1.fc14.x86_64, directory
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/ (not /sys/class/drm/card-0/device/) does
not contain any file called power_method. However, there is a further
directory named power/ whose content is the following:

$ more /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/*
::::::::::::::
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/async
::::::::::::::
enabled
::::::::::::::
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/control

::::::::::::::
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/runtime_active_kids

::::::::::::::
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/runtime_enabled

disabled & forbidden
::::::::::::::
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/runtime_status

/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power/runtime_usage
