No, radeons are VBE 3.

No, this is a PanelID bug and should already be fixed in xorg-x11-server
1.9.0-9.

Maaaaaybe but I doubt it.  This mach64 is VBE 2 but I think the failure
you're seeing there is that it doesn't have any 32bpp modes in the BIOS,
only 24bpp.

Anyway, built -12 with the VBE fix:
