Part of characters missing

The console terminal (<ctrl><alt><F2>) works fine.

>From KDE:
The xterm terminal works fine.
The konsole terminal is the one with the problem.  Right click on screen, 
select konsole, type "ls /".

>From GNOME:
The XTerm termonal works fine.
The GNOME Terminal works fine.
The konsole terminal trims last char sometimes.  Type "ls /".

I think something to do with konsole character printing.

Anything else to try?
