rawhide (f17) and VirtualBox 4.1.4 not meshing

I installed F16 (with updates) on a VBox instance (4.1.4) with VBox 
Guest Additions.

All works well under F17 in GNOME Fallback mode.

I then upgraded to rawhide(F17) via yum distro-sync.

The system boots and I can get into text consoles, but the graphical 
login fails to start.
Mostly due to 4.1.4 being X version 11 and rawhide being X version 12.

In this case I may upgrade to VBox 4.1.6 and see what happens.  My 
kittens are
suffering from rawhide intoxication. :-)
