nomodeset is not supported by anything any more. It will only even do
anything like what you want it to do on a small subset of radeons, and
even for those, it's not supported and not what we want to do. The
answer to 'it hurts when I use nomodeset' is always 'don't do that,
then' :). If there's a bug forcing you to use nomodeset, please let us
know what it is so I can try and get some priority on fixing it; that's
the bug that should get fixed, rather than trying to patch up the UMS
code path.
