/ must be on a partition or LV that will be formatted. Reusing an existing / is not allowed.

Hmm, that might be unfortunate. We use a fresh kickstart onto an
existing / partition; will it still work to specify

part / --onpart /dev/sda3 --noformat

in the kickstart file? Or is this blocked as well?
