Beta preparation: TC2 testing, blocker fix validation

Hey, folks. Just wanted to post a quick summary of where we stand with
Beta. Obviously, we need to get the TC2 validation testing completed. We
also need to check all the bugs that ought to be fixed in TC2 and verify
that they indeed are, so we can get those bugs off the blocker list. All
of these bugs are in that position, we just need to test them on TC2 and
confirm the fixes:

thanks, everyone. If you confirm that one of these bugs is fixed, please
add a comment to the bug and set it to VERIFIED status. The first RC
build is scheduled for next Wednesday: we need to have all accepted
blockers addressed by then.
