Text clipboard survives a system restart

Hi,

having some problems in F16 with the text clipboard:

1. If saving some text in the (x-)clipboard with ctrl+c, this text
survives a system restart, so my question: where is the text stored, and
why is it restart resistent?

2. Clipboard problems especially with libreoffice: If I have some text
in the clipboard (copied with ctrl+c), and I try after this to copy some
geometric objects (lines, squares,...) and paste them, all time the text
is pasted and not the geometric objects I copied directly before trying
to paste?

No  such behavior in F15!!
