As a request for help, there's probably better places to post this where
you're more likely to get help, like the user list. It's not strictly
anything in particular to do with F17, so it's not restricted to this
list. It's just a question about recovering from data loss.

Alternatively: if you pick 'custom partition layout', then make sure you
_actually check_ the layout before proceeding.
