The upcoming Gnome 3.6 won´t make it to F18 :-/

I think you are mistaken. F18 already has 3.5, and I think for gnome that 
would be a prerelease version of 3.6. I think the Gnome Ibus feature likely 
depends on 3.6, though I don't specifically see gnome 3.6 listed as a feature.
