Based on this thread and feedback from others and the forums, I've
created a series of bugs on *specifically identified* usability issues,
all with the 'tag' [custom part usability]:

I've discussed most of these issues with the anaconda devs and with Mo
already, we've come up with some thoughts for several of them. Some of
these may be F19 stuff, depending on how big the fixes turn out to be.

If you have something to add to one of these *specific issues*, please
do so! But please don't broaden out each report by referring to other
usability issues, I'm trying to keep focused on one problem at a time
here. If you have a different specific usability problem, please file a
new bug on it - feel free to add the [custom part usability] 'tag' for
ease of searching.
