Dreadfull flash fullscreen performance when using GRUB_TERMINAL=gfxterm

Confirmed with Thinkpad T500 and Intel 4500MHD, Fedora 17. If I hadn't seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed this can be related. The bugzilla is here:
