$ ps aux|grep hald-addon-storage
root      2719  0.0  0.0  24172  1116 ?        S    May31   0:01
hald-addon-storage: polling /dev/sr0 (every 2 sec)

Of course this translates into more wakeups etc. from the kernel driver.
