Issue with sendmail and virtusertable

Hello,

I have put the following entry into virtusertable:
user at domain.com	user at machine.domain.com

Yes, I ran 'makemap hash virtusertable < virtusertable'

The problem is that mail is not being forwarded to machine.domain.com it
is going to the mail relay listed in the MX record for domain.com.

I have run sendmail -bt and performed a /map check, and it returns the
correct values.
