X over the network

Dear all,
I'm trying to make my remote X sessions working again. I used to have it
working on RH7.3. But it was quite some tuning. Now I'm working with X
manager 1.3.9 on Win98SE, but that should not matter.
I opened port 177 on my firewall and changed the line
DisplayManager.requestPort: 0
into
DisplayManager.requestPort: 177

Yes, i did restart the X-server.
Did I forget anything?
