Sorry, but I think he (nosp) is right. A line like 

> pkgSkipList=kernel*;

to me _IS_ self-explanatory (there is even a comment!). What is so
difficult to understand about that? 

If you have difficulties with the word "skip" I suggest you take a
dictionary or use google.
