I followed the directions exactally on getting mysql
to load at startup after changing the password.
that were said from a previous post
editing /etc/rd.d/init.d/mysqld
to say:
if !([ -n "`/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u UNKNOWN_USER ping
2> /dev/null`"
then I run this from a terminal?
perl -pi -e 's/mysqladmin ping/mysqladmin -u dummyuser
ping/g' /etc/init.d/mysqld
ok, I did that.
still having errors connecting to mysql from my PHP
files.
I can't find the bugzilla report on this, I did a
search and found nothing.
how do I fix this? I have tried everything I can think
of. I never had this problem in redhat 9, 8 or 7.3
thats all I know. just suddenly appeared in fedora
core 1. I am still using the default mysql 3.23 that
is shipped with fedora.
if I run /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld start
from a terminal, it starts ok, but I can't connect to
mysql from my PHP programs. :(
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks :)
