The exact issue is that RHAT have $300M in the bank cash, and they do not want
to allow SCOmbags and other creatures the opportunity to shake them down
because of potential licensing trouble. When you look at what a great job
they do allowing top-drawer developers to contribute to Linux, and their
(expensive) legal defense of Linux against SCO, I think they made the right
MP3 addons are available from the other repos, and one day I bet we will see
one or more 'tracking distros' of Fedora (they won't be called Fedora or have
any RH art on them) which have these things added on already.... these will
be run by the community which has no deep pockets to attack.
