USB-Mouse Problem

Hello!

I'm using my Microsoft USB-mouse currently with a PS2-adapter but
whenever I shutdown it says "shutdown mouse services failed".

I read of a simple solution in this list: just put the adapter away and
plug the mouse right into the USB port, but whenever I try this and
reboot my PC fedora starts, the mouse works well but my keyboard (some
Compaq-PS2) won't.

What can I do to get both, my mouse and my keyboard work perfectly?
