So would I.
I was apprehensive to upgrade myself, but decided the only way to know
for sure was to try it. First boot after the install completed and I was
right back where I was before, except uname -a looked a little
different, and there were some new logos for the X login.

Since I did the upgrade in place path, everything else including my home
directory customizations (like SSH Key-Agent startups, etc) was already
in place.

I could not get redhat-config-xfree86 to configure dual-head on my
GeForce 4 MX 440 using the nv driver.

redhat-config-xfree86 showed the dual-head tab, and it seemed to enable,
but it only showed the NVidia GeForce 4 (generic) as the second card
drop down choice, and that didn't work when I tried it. I could find no
hint on how to get a single card like the 440 with TwinView to work.

What kind of card do you have and and what XF86Config whacking did it
take?

That would solve one of my two problems with dropping the NVidia binary
driver.
