Use Audacity, it should be in one of the Fedora repositories.
Gnome-Sound-Recorder is crap. It crashed on me constantly as well. It
would record 0 byte wave files and then crash when trying to play them.
I use Audacity to edit 500MB - 1GB wave files with no problems at all.
It is a very good Audio editor. You can also record audio with it and
export to wav, ogg or MP3.
