I find 2.6.0 perfectly usable, under RedHat-9.0.
The only problem I've had with it to date
is that bluez (Bluetooth) doesn't work --
as Marcel Holtmann, the bluez king, acknowledges.
But you sound as though you think it is going to make your computer explode.

Re "refinements and fixes", what exactly does that mean?
If "fixes" means correction of bugs in the Torvald's kernel,
I would have thought the proper action was to send the patches to Torvalds.
Equally, if "refinements" means "improvements on the Torvalds kernel"
I would prefer to wait until they are approved by Torvalds or his minions.
