GDM login beep removal (was: Re: Security Settings and GDM beep)

i have successfully disabled that beep.

edit the file /etc/X11/gdm/Init/\:0

put this line below the copyright statement
/usr/X11R6/bin/xset -b

i understand this beep is to help visually impaired
people.  So do it only if that computer is not used by
these people.
