linux-2.6 can't work

HI:
   I installed FC1 it works well on my Desktop.But when download kernel-2.6-test9
and Rusty's module-init-0.9.14. when I installed kernel-2.6 and modules-init tools
following the README of modules-init. I used lsmod and found that all the module
can't work. why?
