Thanks for that - I'd managed to get it mounted using /dev/sda with no 
number at the end and it works fine. Having said that - I am now getting 
some permission errors when I try and write to it that I didn't get 
before, and checking my /etc/fstab file it has switched to /dev/sda1

Very odd.....
