Hello, Everyone :)
In reference to the above stated report I made two weeks ago, I have
done some follow-up experimentation. After a fresh install of Fedora
Core 1, I removed "prelink" from /etc/cron.daily. Ever since then, I
have had no problems with segmentation faults. This morning, before I
went to bed, I put "prelink" back into /etc/cron.daily and left the
machine running. When I woke up, I checked the machine, and sure
enough, I started getting segmentation faults on applications that had
worked perfectly the night before. Thankfully, did a "man prelink" and
ran /usr/sbin/prelink -au as root, and everything was fixed.
I am now going to report this to Bugzilla. I will get back to you
with the bug report number.
