strange irda problem

Hi List,

I installed FC1 on my notebook 2 weeks ago from scratch
without any problems. Irda works fine with (x)gnokii
and with minicom configured to the irda port /dev/ttyS2.
I can even use the modem of my Nokia 6310i via irda
and synchronizing my Palm using irda also works ...
BUT, starting the internet-druid to configure ppp
using the Nokia modem via irda, the traffic on the
irda port stops at once without any evidence for an
error. There were no log entries or error messages :-(
Shutting down the internet-druid didn't reactivate the
traffic, only rebooting solved the problem.
After restarting the notebook irda works fine again.
I watched the traffic with irdadump and opened the
redhat-control-network applet, the traffic immediately
died. Closing the applet didn't change anything,
restarting irda didn't help, unloading and reloading
the kernel modules didn't solve the proble, just
rebooting works. Poking around in the dark I tryed
to load the modules for my winmodem lt_modem.o and
lt_serial.o which I compiled for 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl.
Loading lt_modem.o made no problems but loading
lt_serial.o immediately stops the irda traffic. The
winmodem just workes fine without any problems.

Are there any ideas about that strage behaviour or
how to solve that problem ? I have no more ideas
right now ...

Thanks in advance

Torsten
