Segfaults, lots of segfaults

Hello all,
I installed Fedora Core 1 last week. Since that time a number of
regularly used applications now segfault either immediately upon startup or
shortly thereafter. The list of affected apps includes KDevelop2.x,
Kdevelop3.0, Opera 7.2, mozilla-1.4.1-18, and one or two others. I have
upgraded to the latest glibc, gcc-3.3.2-1, and am using kernel 2.4.22. The
segfaults result with both binary rpm installs and building the apps from
source. Any ideas for putting a stop to this will be gratefully received.
If I don't get this fixed soon I'm going to have to go back to RH9 as I
really need access to my development tools.
TIA,
Ron
