Can you tell me what you can't do in OpenOffice that you can do in Word? 
I am still evaluating whether to carry on with OpenOffice (seems to do
everything I need it to do) or MS Office under CrossOver or VMWare. For
what it's worth, you could also download the demo (30days) of Crossover
Office and have MS Office up and running within minutes.
