The 2.6 kernel is available for "Shrike"??? Why not Fedora instead??

Go to http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/ . There you will find 2.6
kernels and some other packages required to use them. If you update the
other packages, the kernel should work on RedHat 9, and the other packages
are already updated in Fedora, so you just need the kernel.
