new user : info about yum or/and apt in Fedora

Hello everybody,
I've just install Fedora 0.95 on my test machine (was RH 9.0).
I'm using apt-rpm for packages management and very happy with it !!

I read that fedora use yum and/or apt-rpm with up2date ?

I browsed the ML archive but there's not real explanation about this
"merge".

Can you send me links that explain this feature ?
