nvidia driver works w/ new kernel and inittab 3, but not 5

Wow, the old kernels from RH9? You can delete them using rpm -e.

No problems. But the place where the module is located does not matter.
It could also be in

/lib/modules/2.4.18-19.8.0/misc

What I suspect is that the
kernel-module-nvidia-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl-1.0.5336-0.lvn.3.1 RPM package
interferes with the manual install. I suggest you decide for only one
way: either the .sh script install version OR the livna.org RPM.

I ever only used the NVidia.com shell script install solution and had
never ever any problem on FC1 with it.
